Why do I need dental braces?
Research shows that orthodontic problems can contribute to dental problems later in life, such as:
- plaque traps around crowded or overlapping teeth and early onset gingivitis or gum disease
- pockets or food traps which can collect bacteria and cause gum infections
- abfractions – small chips in the teeth that weaken them overtime, caused by malocclusion and bite problems
- preventable tooth problems, bone loss or tooth loss
We aim to help all our patients keep their natural teeth for life. Orthodontic treatment is an important part of good dental health for many people.
Early orthodontic treatment is the best course of action to correct issues early on before they become complex, and timely and costly to correct.
If early treatment was missed, teenagers and adults can still greatly benefit from orthodontic correction. We offer a variety of dental braces including ceramic white braces and Invisalign clear braces. All treatment is prescribed based on need, and some people may need metal braces.
One thing is certain, straight teeth are healthier teeth, and our caring orthodontic dentists are here to help.
